Should you listen to music while running?
This is an ongoing conversation. Pros and Cons. No right or wrong. No consensus. Personal preferences.
Be mindful of the potential impact on your hearing. Music that’s too loud for too long over too many years means you may face consequences, even if you are not much aware of it at the present.
On the “pro” side, there are tactics and science to support listening to tunes while running. One of my friends chooses her music in a very specific way – 2 songs to run, one song to walk, repeat (she does a mix of run/ walk). She loves it this way.
On the “con” side, there’s safety and being aware of surroundings including wildlife and distracted drivers.
Personally, I like the peace and the meditation time and the “au natural” sound of nature and life, when I am “unplugged”.
